A strategic cultural and creative regeneration plan for the Taro Valley

The Festival Arte Kunst Val Taro will be held from 29 July to 8 August 2021 in the Upper Valtellina towns of Bedonia, Compiano, Tornolo and Tarsogno.
The project has been organized by a German-Italian couple, who have been active for years in Milan in the field of art promotion and have recently moved to Bedonia: Bianca Maria Rizzi and Matthias Ritter. For the organic development and management of the initiative, they also had the help of the architect Enza Di Vinci from Genoa. Enza Di Vinci from Genoa.
The collaboration and experience of Bedonia's "La Pieve Association" (Centro Commerciale Naturale), passionately directed by Marco Mariani, was fundamental in giving this beautiful idea a concrete chance. Behind it, there was also the collaboration of the municipalities (headed by Bedonia) and the support of 13 local associations and many private sponsors. The main idea of the event is to revive for ten days the empty shops in the various villages by hosting the activities of 13 established artists, thus filling them with life, creativity and dialogue on art and culture.
The invited artists are Carola Allemandi (Turin), Luca Gastaldo (Varese), Monika Grycko (Faenza), Mirsad Herenda (Bremen, GER), Patricia Lambertus (Berlin, GER), Tancredi Mangano (Milan), Mikos Meininger (Potsdam, GER), Marco Minotti (Meda), Stefanie Oberneder (Carrara), Giuliano Orlandi (Carrara), Francesco Orrù (Biella), Davide Ragazzi (Genoa), Beatrice Roncallo (Genoa).
The artists will send a minimum of daily posts documenting the progress of their work in progress, and the environment of their residence in our valley, with a list of obligatory hashtags. Hotels, restaurants and other establishments involved in this initiative will thus be documented and promoted by the artists through their social channels, with small live videos, visible to the numerous followers in various countries.
Dulcis in fundo, to further enliven and enrich the festival, 9 out of 11 days of musical evenings are planned in the towns involved, with a very varied and qualified offer of opera, rock, folk and jazz music; and four of the concerts will be preceded by "conversations with the artist" or explanations of the project by the organizers.
At the end, with the works created during the residency, and with others by the artists themselves, an exhibition will be set up in the oratory of San Rocco in Tornolo (vernissage on Saturday 7 August).
This is an ambitious project, which requires a strong commitment on the part of the organizers and collaborators; but it is also a wide-ranging and well thought-out project, which can lead to a win-win situation.
Artists can experience an intense and creative period, expanding their professional network through meetings with other artists. The people of the valley, on the other hand, receive an input of culture linked to an immediate and potential economic growth of the area.

Un piano strategico di rigenerazione culturale e creativa per la Valle del Taro
Il Festival Arte Kunst Val Taro si terrà dal 29 luglio all'8 agosto 2021 nei centri altovaltaresi di Bedonia, Compiano, Tornolo e Tarsogno.
Il progetto è stato organizzato da una coppia italo-tedesca, da anni attiva a Milano nel campo della promozione artistica, e trasferitasi da poco a Bedonia: Bianca Maria Rizzi e Matthias Ritter. Gli stessi, per lo sviluppo organico e la conduzione dell'iniziativa, si sono anche valsi dell'aiuto dell'arch. Enza Di Vinci, di Genova.
Fondamentale, per dare concrete possibilità a questa bella idea, è poi stata la collaborazione e l'esperienza della “Associazione La Pieve” di Bedonia (Centro Commerciale Naturale), diretta con passione da Marco Mariani. Dietro di essa, è venuta anche la collaborazione dei Comuni (capofila, quello di Bedonia) ed il supporto di 13 Associazioni del territorio e dei molti sponsor privati. Idea cardine della manifestazione è quella di far rivivere per dieci giorni le botteghe vuote nei vari paesi ospitandovi l'attività di 13 artisti affermati, e riempiendole così di vita, creatività, dialoghi sull’arte e la cultura.

Gli artisti invieranno un minimo di post quotidiani che documentino il progresso dei loro lavori in corso, e l’ambiente della loro residenza nella nostra valle, con un elenco di hashtag obbligatori. Alberghi, ristoranti ed altre realtà coinvolti in questa iniziativa verranno così documentati e promossi dagli artisti attraverso i loro canali social, con piccoli video in presa diretta, visibili dai numerosi followers in vari paesi.
Dulcis in fundo, ad allietare ed arricchire ulteriormente il festival, nell'ambito delle località interessate sono previste, per ben 9 giorni su 11, serate musicali con un'offerta assai varia e qualificata tra musica lirica, rock, folk e jazz; e quattro dei concerti saranno preceduti da altrettante "conversazioni con l'artista" o spiegazioni del progetto da parte degli organizzatori.
Al termine, con le opere realizzate durante la residenza, e con altre degli stessi artisti, verrà allestita una mostra nell'oratorio di San Rocco a Tornolo (vernissage il sabato 7 agosto).
Si tratta di un progetto ambizioso, che richiede un forte impegno da parte di organizzatori e collaboratori; ma è anche un progetto di ampio respiro e ben congegnato, che può portare ad una situazione favorevole per tutti.
Gli artisti possono vivere un periodo intenso e creativo, ampliando la loro rete professionale attraverso gli incontri con altri artisti. La gente della valle, invece, riceve un input di cultura collegato ad un'immediata e potenziale crescita economica della zona.
