Under the title ‘American Beauty. Da Robert Capa a Banksy”, a selection of 130 artworks is presented in Padua, at the Centro Culturale Altinate/San Gaetano, from 13 September 2023 to 21 January 2024, narrating the lights and shadows of the nation that more than any other has characterised the last century on a global level: the United States.
The exhibition, organised by Artika in collaboration with the Municipality of Padua and Kr8te, is curated by Daniel Buso.

Offering this original portrait of the States are 120 international artists.
The exhibition itinerary includes absolute Masters of Photography such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa, Diane Arbus and Elliott Erwitt, moving on to the colour images of Steve McCurry, Vanessa Beecroft and Annie Leibovitz.

Alongside photography, one can admire the creations of the protagonists of Pop Art (James Rosenquist, Robert Indiana and Andy Warhol) and the interpreters of Street Art: Keith Haring, Mr. Brainwash, Obey and Banksy.

From Joe Rosenthal’s famous propaganda image (extolling the American victory on Iwo Jima over Japan in 1945), to the anarchic riots in Banksy’s murals, for an original and strictly stars and stripes exhibition.
